Progress

I've been making progress in getting the house ready for our Christmas. I've been getting rid of stuff right and left and paperback novels are a major portion of that.  When I saw and felt what a difference it's made in how the various rooms look I began to wish for more of this feeling of breathable space.  DH also started working on the VHS tapes and the DVD's.  What he's managed to do so far has made the living room look and feel bigger, almost spacious.  I'll get the coffee table and end tables cleared off either today or tomorrow and it will make an even bigger difference.  It's all coming together.

DH and I decided that we'd both like a Kindle for Christmas. Since we can always have our books on  Amazon's Kindle Cloud, can trade them back and forth and even borrow some with no due date for returns it seemed to make more sense.  And even if we have to pay for the books, the cost isn't any higher than we've been paying for the paperbacks we've bought but we don't have them taking up space and creating, as well and gathering, more dust.  So Tuesday night, after we ate dinner out, I got on to Amazon and bought our Kindles.  I paid the extra for overnight shipping and they arrived yesterday. So we spent a goodly amount of time learning about our new toys.  And I still managed to get a lot of clutter cleaned up in the computer room.  It's definitely not perfect but it looks a whole lot better.

Today it's a 9 am appointment in Santa Fe to get a filter put in our car - they say it will take 2 hours.  I won't be bringing my Kindle as I have two paperback books going right now. Then we need to get a few things like new jeans for DH, a CO monitor, and other odds and ends plus eat lunch. I may stop at the art store to look at some Zentangle supplies - I'm planning on learning how to do that next year.

Oh yes, Happy End of the World Day. No, I don't believe world is going to end although it would be nice if all the anger and violence could end. Wouldn't it be nice if that could happen?  But that's another post.
